Yesterday we had a real lumberjack come to our school. His name is Sheepshank Sam. He taught us about the lumberjack life and what happened in the life back then. He showed us the different jobs they did. We even got to TRY to cut wood. When we ate lunch ,we ate it like the lumberjacks did. In SILENCE! It was tough for some of us ,but we handled it. Did you know the lumberjacks called tea ” swamp water “? And eggs were called ” cackleberries “?
Coming soon is our Mackinac Trip on May 26th – 27th. We are going to get there on a bus. There are many parent volunteers. One of them is my mom. We are staying there for one night. My mom will have 3 girls in her group to look after, including me. We only get to bring $20 to spend. We will visit many places on Mackinac Island we learned about in Social Studies. Like different forts and more! I just can’t wait until the Mackinac Island trip!
We have been exploring websites for kids. There are many websites out on the Internet that kids learn, explore, connect with other kids, and play!
My choice is a website that has activities, games, facts about animals, stories, videos, and more.
I like it because it is very interesting and fun while you are learning.

I have a Book Baggie Book that I can read independently. I want to share some information with you.
The title of my book is Breaking Dawn.
It is written by Stephenie Meyer.
This story is about a vampire named Edward and a human named Bella get married and they have a honeymoon on Isle Esme.
It takes place in Forks, Washington.
One of my favorite characters is Edward Cullen because he makes up his so quickly.
I would recommend this book because it gives different emotions in each chapter.
Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929. When he was a boy, black children and white children went to different schools, drank from different water faucets and ate at different restaurants. This was called ” segregation ” . When Martin Luther King gave his ” I have a Dream” speech on April 14, 1968 he was shot and killed. We now celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the 3rd Monday of January. This year we celebrated it on Monday January 19.
In class I made my own ” I have a Dream ” speech.

A ventriliquist named Dave and his ” dummy ” named Skippy came to our school on January 15 , 2009 . When Dave came he tought us about rock n’ roll in a funny way with his puppets without being long and boring. He sang us songs with help from his puppets . Dave played guitar and the harmonica . Even if someone got a old record and we tried to play a game with his bat named ” Batman ” but when one kid didn’t got the ball and didn’t give the ball back. 4th graders had a great time !

Thank you for reading my personal narrative. You might think ‘ So what they are three cats that might die. Just buy new ones.’ But if you were me you would know how special they are to me and you wouldn’t want them to go either.
